Mr. French wants a Scout just like this one.
I finally got a chance to talk to the old guy who owns the Ford Falcon station wagon I want. My goodness! We could have talked for hours. I told him I planned to buy his car. He said I'd have to make him an offer he couldn't refuse. I told him to at least give me a dollar range I'd be looking at for such an offer. He just came right out and said he'd paid $3300 and wanted $5000. He's totally in love with that car.
If I had the money, I'd offer him $4000 and change. (Probably $4500.) The car looks good without being perfect. I want that car!! But, alas, I'm in the midst of restoring the Bus. If someone offered to buy the Bus, I'd sell it right now just to get that man's station wagon.
Mrs. French, I can totally picture your family in that Scout, with you wearing that black coat that's in your I heart Mondays today.
Surfsister, this is indeed an interesting development. I want to see a photo of that wagon! I bet if you do restore your VW Bus, that the Falcon wagon will still be there, waiting for you. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
