Happy - Art Trading

Alessandra Mello made art cards for me

A friend of mine and I traded art with each other.  We planned it two months ago and met up this weekend to trade.  My friend is a photographer but she wanted to explore her creativity in a different way.  She used different sized hole punches to punch paint samples (that she already had) and arrange them on white greeting cards.  They are modern and gorgeous and I love them.

Alessandra with the piece I made for her

This is the piece I made for her.  I used acrylic paint and collage with one of my monotypes on a piece of wood.

This summer, I'd like to do more art trades. If you would like to trade art with me, please let me know.  You don't have to be an "artist" in the official sense.  I know that each person has their own creativity and maybe yours is waiting to come out in new ways and this is your opportunity!  Let me know and I'll be in touch in the coming months!  It's fun and it feels exciting and inspiring...and happy!

Rainbow Skate

Duke turned two at the end of January and he just started skating with his Dad at the skatepark on Saturdays.  He's been skating in our backyard before he could walk.  He is really serious and passionate about it.

That's my latest mixed media on board, inspired no doubt by my son.  He actually collaborated with me on this one, suggesting where to place the pink edged skateboard.

I am glad it is getting warmer.  I believe I had some winter doldrums.   Sometimes I pretend I am in Waikiki.  Aloha.
