Joshua Tree

This is a mixed media monotype I did, using the process of chine-collé with an old map I bought at the Alameda Antique Fair. I did some overprinting and it was fun to make. I also bought some old wood type letters at that same fair and can't wait to use them at the next studio sesh.

Letters? Oh letters. Oh I love letters. I would love to come watch you use the letters if possible. I love your work so much!

Thanks very much Ryan and Jess! Jess, I'd love you to come to the studio. Let's hang out there when you get back from PDX.

Jamie, this is one of my favorite prints of yours. I LOVE the fact that you incorporated the map. How the heck did you do that? Does the map get destroyed during the process? Is it in tact so you can use again? Questions, questions from the non-arty world.

That's a hanger Jamie. I hope it's big.

Thanks a whole heck of a lot, for saying such nice things Clare, Surfsister and Mick. You all have given me encouragement to keep showing my art. Clare, I can't use that map again as it is strongly bonded with glue to the print, by a technique called chine colle. Maybe I'll document a demonstration at some point. Cheers.
