Photo shoot at home

This shoot made me laugh a lot because I've never seen my husband in a mustache. He really got into character. In a gravelly voice he was saying things like, "Yeahhhhh, I'm gonna get in my van".

Jay had very specific ideas for this shoot and searched all over the bay area for wood paneling. Apparently it's out of fashion (really?) and it was nowhere to be found, until someone tipped him off about a home in Palo Alto that was going to be salvaged. We went one Saturday morning with a crowbar and scored a sheet from a garage for 6 bucks.

I'll let you know when the finished product is on the Interwebs. In the meantime, turn on your classic rock station and get loose.

Mustaches rock!

Wood paneling? We've got half a duplex full of it. When we bought this place, we couldn't afford to totally redo everything. One side had a lot (!!!) of wood paneling (and still has it). The other side got a lot of sunlight and had no such horrible brown walls. Guess which side we chose to live in?

Nice blog. I lurk a lot but finally decided to say hello.

Hi, Jamie! You guessed wrong. We like the paneling. Okay, I'm kidding! You're right. We live on the side with the sunshine.

The board you asked about was made by yet another surf blogger (Alan M). You can find the dimensions at saltedsurfboards.blogspot.com. I'm still not ready to get back in the water yet. I figure mid-July and I'll be on that board. He can make one for you too!

I grew up with this paneling in our family room. It was there for years along with the orangy-brown carpet that hid the stains. When we all moved out she pulled up the carpet, refinished the wood floors underneath, painted the paneling a creamy white and threw down an oriental carpet. Can't even tell you're on the same planet!
P.S. Your hubby looks like a lot of fun.

I honestly take comfort in the fact that you two also find mustaches wonderful. Mr. French and I often have a good laugh over the same thing. Except Mr. French uses the tail of one of our cats...he has a very long tail.

Thanks for all your wonderful comments about mustaches and wood paneling...and surfboards and cats! You each really made me smile (and Jay too).
